Description

Best Value Vacs brand wood stabilizing resin gives the user the ability to save woods that would not normally be used for turning like old punky woods or woods that are stock and brittle. Woods that easily crack, check, and split like spalted woods can now easily become solid with this wood stabilizer.  pairs well with our PVC Wood stabilizing chambers or our GlassVac Vacuum Chambers.

Aerospace-approved heat-cured resin for stabilizing and hardening the wood and other porous material. This resin is reusable and does not significantly change the color of most woods.

Prior to first use or after an extended period of storage, entire contents should be de-gassed by subjecting contents to a vacuum of at least 25 inches of mercury for 30 minutes. Wood Stabilizer will cure when exposed to 194°F (90°C) for at least 10 minutes. Therefore the time required to completely cure a stabilized blank will depend on factors such as wood thickness and density.

Wood Stabilizing resin is compatible with many dyes and stains. However, BVV™ makes no guarantee or warranty that Wood Stabilizing Resin is compatible with all dyes and stains and will not be liable for any loss due to incompatibility. It is recommended to test compatibility on a small sample first to reduce the risk of loss of wood or stabilizer

I like the stabilizing resin over the others because it has a 3 year shelf life as opposed to 1 year with the others.
