Hampshire Sheen Food & Toy Safe Danish Finishing Oil is strong, durable, and protective; Hampshire Sheen Danish Oil is the perfect solution. Combining natural Tung Oil and a low-odour biodegradable solvent, this product has a deep and penetrating finish that is thin and will not chip, flake, or peel.

The oil is easy to apply with over 50% Tung Oil and is odorless when dry, making it ideal for use on food and toys. This extraordinary combination produces a finish that embodies strength and durability and offers superb protection. Plus, it is naturally water resistant for worry-free protection. With Hampshire Sheen Danish Oil, you can create a stunning finish that will last. This Danish Finishing Oil will make the figure in your wood ‘pop’ with just one coat and almost glow with any applied color. After many coats and buffing, it can be brought to a gloss finish like other oils.

 BASIC APPLICATION
  1. Sand your work down to your desired grit. We recommend 400 grit.
  2. Apply the oil using a paper towel or rag;
  3. After a few minutes, remove excess oil from the surface of the piece;
  4. Allow 20 minutes between coats and apply a maximum of 2 before allowing to cure;
  5. Leave to cure thoroughly for at least 24-48 hours before buffing and putting into use. Healing time will vary depending on ambient temperature and humidity;
  6. Recoat as required.
  7. For best results, use within six months of
    purchase.
 USES

Use on fruit and salad bowls or items requiring a more satin finish. It can, however, be buffed to a gloss after many coats.

 COLOUR AND AROMA

Translucent pale brown in the tin. When applied, it darkens the wood—the aroma of solvents and waxes.

 CONTAINER

It is supplied in a 500ml ‘Berg top’ tin bottle.

 STORAGE

Store in a cool, dry place, ideally between 10° and 30°C (50° and 90°F) Where possible. Protect from extreme heat and freezing. Keep out of direct sunlight.

 LONGEVITY – USE BY

Kept according to instructions, it is best used within six months after opening the product. Due to the curing nature of the product, it will thicken over time.
